ABOUT THE MINISTRY :
Nayelly and Yalessa are two young adults born and raised in the South Houston area near nasa. They spent a majority of their late childhood and teen years serving in the local church and doing worship ministry together. When Nayelly moved back from Dallas at the end of 2020, she had a burning passion inside of her to create some sort of community of young adult believers using the gifts God had given her. She presented this idea to her cousin Yalessa in December of 2020, and she, too, had that same fire inside of her to do something. Many young adults during and post pandemic were craving some sort of unity and community. Many people will often hide this fire, especially if you are young. Often you are told you are not capable, but through God, you are capable of many things. Nayelly and Yalessa leaned into God's will, and within 30 days, the first Salt and Light Worship Night was cultivated, in January 2021. They had no ministry name, and did not know where God would take them. They began to pray on what they wanted to be called and God revealed himself to them in a passage in the book of Matthew.
